Amelia Carson is an international selling artist who has been practicing her craft for 40 years. In kindergarten she discovered the wonder of art, of being curious, of using masking tape. She still comes at art from a point of view of wonder, curiosity and quite a bit of masking tape.
Ok, thats enough of third person – I make art because I can. It gives me something to be absorbed by, keeps my hands busy and my head grounded. It allows me to have an effect on my world, even if it’s just a doodle on an Aldi receipt. Sometimes my art has had an impact on someone else in a sort of transcendental and personal way. I don’t create art to do this and i don’t create art to sell, but i am so grateful to have an audience engaged enough to be moved by what i create and want to take it home. I create art for myself – in silence but when I share it we get to have a conversation. I am beyond grateful for that.
